OUR STORY
K-LAB was founded with the purpose of challenging the structural engineering norms in the Scandinavian construction industry. The K-LAB team has worked on a variety of innovative engineering projects across the world and now brings together our collective engineering experience to make our clients' visions a reality.
Our core team of structural engineers and modelers come from different experiences and have complementary strengths. Our backgrounds span between construction management, structural engineering, architecture and BIM coordination. This, along with a strong commercial understanding allows us to look at design from a number of viewpoints to ultimately find the best solutions to meet our clients' needs.

With a strong understanding of Swedish norms and standards, Edward develops documentation for permits, cost estimates, and production. Proficient in 3D modeling and technical drawings, he recently focused on renovating and refurbishing buildings dating back to the 1880s.
DAVID TREACY
David has over 13 years structural design experience across a wide variety of sectors including education, residential, commercial, public infrastructure and industrial. Previously he has worked in the UK, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden, and has designed buildings as far afield as the US and China.

Experienced in retrofits, alterations to historical buildings and all forms of new build, he has a strong multi-disciplinary focus. He enjoys collaborating with the design team to understand design drivers and find the optimal solutions for each project.

David has a keen interest in sustainable design and has been involved with several industry wide initiatives to ensure that construction lessens its environmental impact.
LAURA CIRTAUTAITE
Laura has over 9 years of experience in structural engineering, having worked in the UK and Sweden. She has a very strong technical background in deep basement constructions and the use of concrete and steel.

Laura is an integral part of our detailed calculations team which sees her work across multiple projects at one time. She assists with the scheme design reviews for all new projects to push the design solutions in the right direction.

Laura is also very experienced in retrofitting existing buildings, having worked with many renovation projects in the UK, ranging from small house conversions to large office spaces.
SAMUEL ELIASSON
Samuel has a background in both structural engineering and architecture, having studied and worked in both industries over the past 10 years.

He is a leader in Sweden in computational and parametric analysis and design, and he has spent a large portion of his career working with timber and CLT structures. He has a passion for developing simple structural solutions for complex architectural forms.

Samuel leads K-Lab’s parametric modelling team where he focuses on developing wholistic design schemes for new build projects and maximizing efficiency in architectural and structural layouts.
LUKE TUCKER
Luke has experience as an Engineering Technician in both Structural and Civil roles based in New Zealand, along with an academic background in Architectural Technology split between Denmark and New Zealand.

His experience has predominantly had a focus on the digital delivery of concrete structures and seismic retrofits along with various BIM and Coordination aspects.

Luke is looking forward to adapting these skills within the Swedish environment at K-Lab while continuing to explore and develop new ways to manage and display project information in his role as a BIM specialist.

LENA ALLGURIN
Lena completed her studies in Architecture and Construction Engineering with a Master of Science degree in the spring of 2023. Her interest in the structural aspects of buildings naturally led her to pursue a master's degree in building construction. During her academic years, she also had the opportunity to participate in an exchange program at ETH Zurich.

During her master’s thesis Lena went to The Gambia and worked with rammed earth and how it can be utilized as load-bearing material in a school. Rammed earth has low climate impact and can hopefully be used more in the future. With her knowledge, Lena contributes to the diversity of our team and her innovative thinking allows her to challenge traditional Structure design.
